The Diaghilev exhibition opened this week.
I went to the Patrons breakfast event for the new Diaghilev exhibition, it is an amazing exhibition.
My dissertation I wrote for my textiles degree at Glasgow School Of Art was on the Ballet Russes, focusing on Leon Bakst costumes so i couldnt wait to see this exhibition. It didn't disappoint as they even had two of the original set backdrops -Picasso's Deux Femmes Courant Sur La Plage and Natalia Goncharova's The Firebird, which are alone a must see. A really good cross section of the costumes, drawing, films and music that shows the incredible work of the Ballets Russes 1909 - 1929.
There was a good write on it in the Telegraph on the 13th September.
The costumes and sets are so inspiring.
