2023: A Year in Review
A note from our Managing Director, Ian Tatnell:
Well, that’s another year almost over, and I do not know where the time has gone. Running a business is as challenging as it is rewarding, and 2023 has been no different, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
We have a great team here at Sekers, and 2023 started with us introducing our new Design Manager, Lisa Gormley, along with Nuala Blackwood, who joined us to head up the Social Media and Marketing department. They, along with Laura Conway, our Textile Designer, have been busy designing, developing, and marketing all of the fantastic new collections that we have launched this year.
After a strong Spring launch, we followed up by introducing ‘Spellbound’, the very first global launch of the exciting FR-One fully certified GRS recycled collection. To say it has gone down well with the A&D community is an understatement, and we are seeing great specifications already, so bring on 2024!
After a successful ‘Sleeper Sessions’ event in Croatia where we rekindled relationships and made some great new ones, Sekers exhibited at the CSI show in Miami in June, again allowing us to meet with clients who are now classified as friends along with making new connections. We completed the year in London at HIX in November where we launched some really strong new collections with the star of the show being ‘Zapotec.’ I have been at Sekers for a long time, and I think this is one of the best-patterned upholstery collections we have launched, so well done to all involved. We look forward to seeing it being used in some of the fantastic projects that our customers will be producing in 2024.
We are all very fortunate to work in a great industry that has certainly had its challenges during the pandemic, but we are seeing signs that the hospitality sector is emerging stronger and more creative than ever. This is down to the people who work within it, and we would like to thank all of our customers for their support over the year and wish you all a restful Christmas break and a happy and healthy New Year ahead.

Seven New Collection Launches
Reflecting on 2023, Sekers celebrates the successful launch of seven standout collections, featuring a diverse range from faux-leather and plush velvets to striking decorative designs and exceptional blackout fabrics. The markets enthusiastic response underscores our commitment to producing premium fabrics for the contract market with the highest standards. We look forward to continued innovation in 2024.

FR-One & Sekers Spellbound
In 2023, Sekers Fabrics and FR-One proudly launched ‘Spellbound,’ a sustainable collection featuring seven ranges complying with Global Recycle Standards (GRS). From sheers to upholstery, each collection offered inherent flame retardancy and washability, meeting Crib 5 standards.
A standout moment was Spellbound’s shortlisting for The Eco Award at The Brit List Awards 2023 by Hotel Designs. This recognition highlights Spellbound’s innovative and eco-friendly design.
